Online Therapy in Pennsylvania
From Philadelphia to Pittsburgh, Erie to Harrisburg — if you’re in Pennsylvania, you can meet with a licensed Mana Life counselor by secure video without leaving home. Same licensed clinicians, same evidence-based care, same fees as in-person sessions.
Real therapy, wherever you are in Pennsylvania
Our practice is rooted in State College, but our care doesn’t stop at Centre County. Every counselor at Mana Life Counseling is licensed in Pennsylvania, which means we can legally and ethically provide therapy to you by telehealth anywhere in the Commonwealth — whether you’re in a city with six-month therapist waitlists or a rural township with no providers nearby.
Online sessions take place over secure, HIPAA-compliant video through our client portal. You’ll see the same counselor each week, build the same therapeutic relationship, and work from the same evidence-based approaches — cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based CBT, and psychodynamic therapy. Decades of research, accelerated by the telehealth era, consistently find that online therapy is as effective as in-person care for most concerns, including anxiety and depression.
What we treat online in PA
Nearly everything we offer in the office is available by telehealth across Pennsylvania:
- Anxiety & depression — our most requested online service
- Trauma & PTSD — including specialized care for survivors, veterans & first responders
- Addiction & recovery support from certified addiction counselors
- Relationship & couples counseling — partners can even join from separate locations
- Anger issues
- Grief, caregiving & life transitions
- ADHD & focus — great fit for college students
Who chooses online therapy in Pennsylvania?
Telehealth has been a game-changer for clients who couldn’t make traditional therapy work: parents without childcare, caregivers who can’t leave home, professionals with packed calendars, Penn State students juggling classes, residents of rural counties far from any practice, and anyone who simply feels more comfortable opening up from their own space.
Getting started is simple. You’ll need a private spot, a reliable internet connection, and a phone, tablet, or computer with a camera. We’ll email you a secure link before each session — one click and you’re in the (virtual) room. If technology ever misbehaves, we can switch to phone so your session isn’t lost.

Frequently asked questions
Is online therapy as effective as meeting in person?
For most concerns, yes. Research consistently shows comparable outcomes for teletherapy and in-person therapy, particularly for anxiety, depression, and stress-related concerns. The biggest predictor of success is the relationship with your counselor — which builds just as well over video.
Do I have to live near State College?
No — only in Pennsylvania. Our counselors’ PA licenses allow us to see you by telehealth anywhere in the state, from Philadelphia and Pittsburgh to the smallest township.
What platform do you use? Is it private?
Sessions run on a secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform through our client portal. No recordings are made, and your sessions are as confidential as an office visit.
How much does online therapy cost in Pennsylvania?
Exactly the same as in-person: $175 for the initial evaluation, then $145 (55 min), $125 (45 min), or $100 (30 min) per session.
What if I’m traveling out of state during a session?
Licensing rules generally require you to be physically located in a state where your counselor is licensed during the session. Our clinicians cover Pennsylvania — and two are also licensed in New Jersey — so tell your counselor if you’ll be traveling and we’ll plan around it.
